"High
blood pressure (also known as hypertension) affects about 65 million
Americans, or about 1 in 3 adults. There are many potential causes of
hypertension, but not necessarily any symptoms. In fact, 30% of the
people who have high blood pressure don’t even realize it." Find

Dumpster
Diving on the Rise
New advice on protecting yourself from identity theft includes watching
for dumpster diving. Thieves will rummage through your trash
looking for bills or other paper with your personal information on it.
|
Advice
includes paying what you can online, and forgoing the paper backup by
mail. If you want a reminder email yourself each each month with a list
of dates and times, or use an electronic reminder; and many bill payers
are now offering to send you email reminders.
Also, shred ALL documents. This includes personal correspondance from
friends and family. Thieves will gleen whatever they can from your
papers.

FREEZING
GORE
Concerning the global warming theory,
not everyone is in agreement with the former VP, Nobel winner and
activist Al Gore. Indeed, research may show the opposite--that we are
due for a cold freeze unlike anything we have known in centuries. |
Back in 1991,
"the Danish Meteorological Institute released a study using data that
went
back centuries that showed that global temperatures closely tracked
(11 year) solar cycles." Today, this research is being used in
conjunction with researchers measuring solar sunspot and flare activity.
Kenneth Tapping, solar researcher and the project director for Canada's
National Research Council says that the sun has had little to no active
flaring for the last several years, and is considered at this point
"disturbingly quiet" in this cycle. Indeed, based on their research, he
believes this may be akin to a period in the 17th C,
where the Earth cooled significantly, and subsequently there were
massive crop failures, cold summers and extremely frigid winters. This
weather pattern is called the "Maunder Minimum" and occurs every couple
centuries in accompaniment with the solar cycle.

MUSHROOM
LIFESAVER
Step aside maitake and matsutake mushrooms! The inexpensive white
button mushroom may turn out to be a life saver. The most grown 'shroom
in the world, this little commoner is apparently one great
anti-oxidant, too!
|
The
respected staff at the Institut National de la Recherche Agrinomique in
France have found that the white button (Agaricus bisporus) had at
least an equal amount, if not more, anti-radical fighting ability than
its more expensive cousins.
Sounds like great news for those those who are struggling to lower
their blood pressure or fight cancer.

BOTTLES
ALTERING GENDER
BPA, (bisphenol A) a toxic estrogen-like chemical
that
forms after heating polycarbonate drinking bottles exposed to heat can
possibly alter a sexual characteristics. Time does not alter this
factor; indeed, even 9 years afterwards, bottles tested released the
same amount of BPA. |
Moreover,
it appears
that in cleaning the bottles using hot to boiling water, rather than
creating a safer cleaner drinking vessel, actually caused the bottles
to release harmful chemicals up to 55 times more quickly, according to
the tests of Scott Belcher, PhD, and his team. Plastic bottles
manufactured from polycarbonates range from baby bottles to sporting
and outdoor enthusiasts.

BAD
WEATHER AHEAD
The weather is crazy so far this year. Talk about cold! Even more crazy
is the cost of
heating oil, as well as the less than safe measures
people are using to stay warm! From open ovens, to cheap electric
furnaces, to open pit fireplaces, and on!
|
A lone spot
good news
is that we recently were told of a revolutionary new way to heat homes,
with
incredible, and we mean truly incredible cost effective results! Based
on sound
scientific technology, GNHC, LLC has developed the
ACH
Heating System; and is just begun producing this simple, easy-to-use,
clean-air
system. Unless you like paying these ridiculous costs! No duh that
forced air and gas furnace companies have no interest...

|
[John Locke]
"...defended the claim that men are by nature free and
equal against claims that God had made all people naturally subject to
a monarch. He argued that people have rights, such as the right to
life, liberty, and property, that have a foundation independent of the
laws of any particular society. Locke used the claim that men are
naturally free and equal as part of the justification for understanding
legitimate political government as the result of a social contract
where people in the state of nature conditionally transfer some of
their rights to the government in order to better insure the stable,
comfortable enjoyment of their lives, liberty, and property. Since
governments exist by the consent of the people in order to protect the
rights of the people and promote the public good, governments that fail
to do so can be resisted and replaced with new governments. Locke is
thus also important for his defense of the right of revolution. Locke
also defends the principle of majority rule and the separation of
legislative and executive powers. In the Letter Concerning
Toleration, Locke denied that coercion should be used to bring
people to (what the ruler believes is) the true religion and also
denied that churches should have any coercive power over their members.
Locke elaborated on these themes in his later political writings, such
as the Second Letter on Toleration and Third
Letter on Toleration." Article at Standford Edu

Going to the Next Level:
"If
we want the magic, it’s time to believe that it exists around and
within us…always creating. All existence happens in the energy field
known as the quantum zone. Within this zone is a mixture of intent,
consciousness, chaos, randomness — all the time creating and sending
out creations of our making." article by Darlene

Chakra: Chakras are considered to be the internal
wheels that keeps us running. Or not! Chakra is, in metaphysics terms,
our life force. Biologically speaking, the nerve ganglia branches into
the spinal column, causing interaction, which regulates the bio-energy
activity of our bodies.
|
While
there are many cultural formats for belief and practice of chakra
maintenance, one thing seems constant throughout all cultures, the
belief that chakras control the psyche, which then monitors, controls
and regulates all aspects of the body.

I am
who I am: Is the answer that's supposed to be
given when someone asks you who you are. It's a old game, where if you
answer I am a dentist, the reply will be "No, that's your profession.
Who are you?" and this question-answer session goes on and on as you
examine yourself for who you *really* are.
|
Historically, the expression was quoted in biblical reference, and
prior to that, in the Torah as Ehyeh asher ehyeh "I am that I
am, " or "I shall be that I shall be."
Since who you are is ultimately so complex or so
nebulous as to be impossible to define with any completeness, it may be
easier to think of this concept in terms of "I am" and "I exist."
|
And you are?

Future Predicting Debate:
"Beware the fallacies into which
undisciplined thinkers most easily fall--they are the real distorting
prisms of human nature," commented Francis Bacon 400 years ago.
According to Chris Anderson of "Wired" magazine,
even into today, most
of us are fooled into believing we can make random happenstance fit
into the "story" of our day as our brains are wired to understand a
narrative that has an specific ending, and not some unpredictable,
statistical uncertainty.
|
He says that we attempt to predict what
the stock market will do on any given day, thus, assuming more order
than actually exists in the chaotic nature of an unpredictable
situation. He argues that in reality, the guesses we are making are
either extremely simplified, or completely inaccurate, and in
actuality, we have no idea why a market will go up or down at any
specific time. This is why winning the lottery is so often termed
"luck."

Dualism:
When two distinct substances, one materially existing in the physical
world and one spiritual existing in the invisible world are present in
object or being, its nature is defined as dualistic or having dualism.
|
In professional practice, the scientist measures and studies and
then defines the empirical or material world, the spiritualist defines
and
studies the psychological, the mental, or the non-physical world.
Others are trying to combine the two entities into one single practice
(holistic medicine for example).
Further, while some dualists
believe the substances are independent entities, others contend that
one can not exist without the other, in a yin yang fashion.
Your thoughts fall into the later belief; your
thoughts create action and subsequent cycle created by thought/action
process defines the "duality" of spiritual and physical working
together.

Being Qua Being:
One of the principle works of Aristotle, "Metaphysics" began a branch
of philosophy that continues today. His work examines causation, form
and matter, mathematics and the existence of objects within
mathematics, God and the "being qua being."
|
|
With the Being
Qua Being theory, Aristotle
asserts that all things exist because
of their very existence and not because of any special qualities they
have. Further, he espouses no contingency to existence; a subject
exists
independent of others, thus, it is independent of other's viewpoints
concerning its
existence. |
